My name is Shannon Trani Fredericks and I am running for Ventura Unified School District Trustee in Area 3.

I have been a teacher in Ventura County for over 25 years and I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I am also the proud parent of two students currently enrolled in Ventura Unified School District. They have attended VUSD schools since TK and I have actively participated in parent leadership throughout all those years.  To be blunt–I am fully invested in education!

OUR SCHOOLS MUST:

• Prepare students for success by developing critical thinking skills, creativity, strong work ethic, resilience and a love of learning

• Promote a variety of pathways for students to discover their strengths and passions

• Value diversity and respect the needs of ALL students

I WILL:

• Guide the district in making responsible financial decisions 

• Contribute to meaningful discussions and thoughtful decision making with fellow trustees

• Improve collaboration, communication and trust through transparency among all stakeholders–students, teachers, parents and community members
